Pick a role. Join a team. Make a film.
A sports-style filmmaking league where collaboration and competition come together to produce high-calibre short films — from idea to screen in 12 weeks.
We run like a sports league — but the game is filmmaking. Every season, crews are formed, ideas are developed, and films get made under real creative constraints.
Director, producer, cinematographer, editor, writer — choose the position that fits you and bring your skills to the crew.
We scout individuals and assemble full film crews — pairing talent with purpose to build complete, complementary teams.
From concept to script to camera to cut — your team has 12 weeks to take an idea all the way to a finished short film. Weekly meetups keep momentum alive.
Every season closes with a special screening night and award ceremony — a proper send-off celebrating the films and the people who made them.
OFL exists to bring filmmakers together — not just to network, but to actually make things. Ambition gets channelled into tangible work, and ideas become real films.
We operate as a sports-style league at the provincial level — structured seasons, assembled crews, and the kind of friendly competition that raises everyone's game.
Regular league nights keep creative momentum going. Show up, collaborate, and keep the film moving — every week counts toward the final cut.
Whether you've never touched a camera or you've been on set for years — you can apply. All experience levels are welcome. Lead roles like director and producer will be filled with skill level in mind, so every team is balanced and set up to succeed.
League nights are held within Toronto (Fairview Library) — accessible, central, and in the heart of Ontario's creative scene.
Applications are open. Pick your role, fill out the form, and we'll be in touch when crews are assembled. Spots are limited — especially for lead roles.
